Two knives linked to teen's 'murder' found by two young children playing in woods

Knives thought to be linked to the stabbing of a Cardiff teenager have been found by two children.

Fahad Mohammed Nur, 18, was found with multiple stab wounds near Cathays railway station on June 2.

Detectives have now confirmed that two knives were found by two young boys who had been searching for squirrels in a small wooded area between Museum Avenue and Park Place. That discovery happened on June 20.

Detectives said they believe the blades may be the weapons used to kill Mr Nur and and forensic tests are being carried out to in order to confirm their involvement.

Mustafa Aldobhani, 21, Abdulghalil Aldobhani, 22 of Cathays Terrace, and Shafique Shaddad, 24 of Louisa Place, have all been charged with Mr Nur's murder.

Detectives have since said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark O’Shea, from South Wales Police's Major Crime Investigation Team, said: "The area in and around Park Place was extensively searched following Fahad’s tragic death on June 2.

"At around 6.30pm on the evening of the Pink concert at the Principality Stadium – Thursday, June 20 – a woman reported that her young sons had found two knives concealed within some trees.

"We are very grateful for their vigilance in reporting this discovery but unfortunately her details were not taken at the time, and we ask that she make contact with us.”

The police are appealing for that woman, or if you are someone who knows her, to contact South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800555111 quoting reference *198071.
