Two people have been killed in a crash on the outskirts of Limerick city.
The incident happened at around midnight in Quinspool, Parteen in Co Clare.
Two men in their early 20s who were also passengers in the car were taken to University Hospital Limerick with serious injuries.
The road has since been closed and diversions are now in place.
A garda spokesman said: "An incident room at Mayorstone Park Garda Station has been set up. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward, particularly any motorists who were travelling in the area between 12am and 1am who may have Dashcam footage
