Two killed after truck rams into tourist bus on Agra-Lucknow Expressway

KANPUR: Two persons were killed and 15 others were injured after a container truck rammed into a tourist bus on Agra-Lucknow Expressway under the limits of Chaubiya police station in Etawah district, on Wednesday morning.

The bus, carrying about 50 devotees on a nationwide pilgrimage tour from Karnataka, was taking passengers from Mathura-Vrindavan to Varanasi via Etawah-Lucknow to visit Kashi Vishwanath and Ayodhya. The bodies have been sent for autopsy.

One Mahadev, the driver of Siddheshwar Transport Karnataka, was driving the bus.

As soon as the bus reached near village Agupur-Gopalpur close to the channel number 113 in Chaubiya police station area, the driver stopped the bus for a while. Meanwhile, a speeding container truck coming from behind rammed into the tourist bus, badly damaging it's rear portion following which the bus climbed on the divider.
