Two young children died after being hit by a car while playing mini-golf with their parents.

A vehicle ran into a golf course in Panama City, Florida, hitting and killing a four-year-old boy and six-year-old girl, police said.

The incident happened at around 3.30pm on Friday, according to WTVM.

Panama City Beach officials said a pick-up left the road and crashed into the golf course, striking the two children.

She added the family were visiting from outside the state when the incident happened.

Ms Ward confirmed the two parents and their children had come from Kentucky.
