Two kid goats believed to have been stolen from Dublin nursing home

Two kid goats are missing and believed to be stolen from a south Dublin nursing home.

Chloe and Jody were taken from their mother at their shed at Mount Sackville Nursing Home in Chapelizod last night. The pair are just two weeks old and staff at the nursing home are very concerned for their welfare.

A staff member told Dublin Live that the kids were put to bed with their mother as normal last night but were missing this morning.

"We fed them and put the goats to bed," they said. "They're in a shed with an iron door at the bottom and we closed the door securely.

"We went out this morning and opened the door and the mother was roaring inside and the two kids had gone.

"They're beautiful kids with very distinctive markings. They're not quite two weeks old and they need the mother's milk because they won't thrive or survive without it."

Chloe is white with brown markings while her brother Jody is dark brown with white markings. The kids' mother has been left distressed since their disappearance and has been "crying all day".

"The residents love them," the staff member said. "The mother always brings the two of them over to the door and we let them in the day room so the residents can get them up on their laps and cuddle them.

"The residents are devastated and the mother has been crying all day."

Anyone with information on the kid goats is asked to contact Mount Sackville Nursing Home.
