Two motorists have been arrested after a car, allegedly fleeing from police, crashed in Glasgow's south side.

Officers were hunting car in the Castlemilk area of the city, which was traced on Carmunnock Road.

After 'failing to stop' for officers, the motor crashed into another vehicle on Homelea Road where it meets Ruel Street in the Cathcart area.

Ambulance crews were called and two people were taken to hospital.

Police arrested two people from the car and an investigation is underway.

A spokesman from Police Scotland told the Record: "At around 1.50pm on Friday, November 15, enquiries were ongoing to trace a car in the Castlemilk area of Glasgow.

"The car was located in the Carmunnock Road area of Croftfoot, however, it failed to stop.

“Officers stood down and the car collided with another vehicle a short time later on Holmlea Road at Ruel Street and two occupants of the car were arrested.

"Two people were taken to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

“Enquires into the circumstances surrounding this incident are continuing.”
