Two in hospital after car crashes into wall on Bolton street

Police closed off a Bolton street after a car smashed into parked vehicles and hit a wall.

Emergency crews were called to Belvoir Street, Tonge Fold, at around 1.20pm this afternoon (Thursday) to reports of a crash.

They taped off the road outside Bury Road Veterinary Clinic for some time while two injured people were treated at the scene.

A man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s were both taken to hospital after being rescued from the damaged vehicle.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We attended an incident on Belvoir Street following a 999 call at 13.21.

"It looks like a vehicle has crashed into a number of parked vehicles and a wall.

"Two patients extricated from vehicle and taken to hospital."
