A 45-year-old woman was the victim of a serious sexual assault in the Murray at the weekend, police say.
The incident is said to have happened in the Campbell Place area just after 10pm on Saturday.
Police confirm that a 28-year-old and a 45-year-old man have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Attempted murder in East Kilbride
The two are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today in relation to the alleged attack.
DI Kenny Dalrymple told the News on Monday: “We can confirm that two men, aged 28 and 45, have been arrested and charged in connection with the serious sexual assault of a 45-year-old woman.
“The incident reportedly took place around 10.15pm on Saturday, in the Campbell Place area of East Kilbride.”
