Two huge food festivals taking over Kirkgate Market this weekend

Kirkgate Market is preparing for a mouth-watering weekend with not one but two food festivals on the bill.

The market , in Leeds city centre, will host two huge events on September 28 and 29, with a raft of tempting food stalls and entertainment.

On Saturday, the Indian Food Festival returns for its third year, with more than 30 stalls celebrating the flavours and traditional tastes of India, with no two stalls selling the same produce.

Visitors can sample a huge variety of Indian cuisine and enjoy entertainment by Bollywood dancers at 1.30pm and 3pm (subject to change.)

The festival, which will run 10am-5pm, will also raise money for Freedom4girls and Udhavum Ullangal (Helping Heart), a NGO from India.

Then on Sunday, a celebration of veganism will see the best in vegan businesses from around the country set up shop.

Vegan Markets UK is paying its first visit to Leeds, bringing tasty food stalls, lifestyle brands and more, selling food, sweet treats, clothing and beauty goods.

The Vegan Festival will run 10.30am-4pm at the Leeds Kirkgate Market outdoor market.
