Two houses petrol bombed as crime feud escalates in Drogheda Co Louth

Two houses have been attacked with petrol bombs as a criminal feud continues to grip Ireland's biggest town.

The incidents occurred in Drogheda Co Louth during the early hours of Saturday morning as a tensions between rival gangs continues to escalate.

The first attack took place at around 12.20am on Saturday morning when a petrol bomb was aimed at a house in Ashleigh Heights. 

Gardai say that a window was broken but no one was injured.

The second incident took place at about 4am when another petrol bomb was thrown through the window of a house in Springfield Court.

A garda investigation into both incidents is ongoing.

These latest acts of violence come less than 48 hours after a callous gunman opened fire and sprayed bullets at a house in the Hardmans Gardens area of Drogheda on Thursday.

One man was hit three times and gardai are treating the incident as attempted murder. This was the third gun attack in recent times in an ongoing feud between two local criminal gangs.
