Two hospitalised after motorbike crash in Bristol city centre

A motorcyclist has been hospitalised following a crash in Bristol city centre.

Ambulance crews were called to Bond Street near Cabot Circus at around 10.33pm yesterday evening (July 2).

Two ambulances and two rapid response vehicles attended the incident, which happened near House of Fraser.

One eyewitness reported the road was closed while patients were treated at the scene.

Two people were then rushed to hospital for further treatment.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 10.33pm to reports of a road traffic incident, reportedly involving a motorcycle, on Bond Street."

"We attended with two ambulances and two rapid response vehicles.

"Two patients were taken to hospital for further treatment."

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary added: "We were called to reports of a collision between a motorcyclist and pedestrian at about 10.40pm last night in Bond Street.

The pedestrian - a woman - was taken to hospital with leg injuries. The motorcyclist had an ankle injury and was taken to hospital.

"Road was reopened at about 12.20am."
