Two horses have died after being hit by an SUV earlier this morning on the A77 at Kilmarnock.
Drivers experienced severe delays at junction 8 near Fenwick after a car hit the stray horses at around 5.26am.
Police have confirmed there are no injuries to any people as a result of the crash.

The road has now fully reopened.
A full closure was implemented shortly after the accident occurred.
One lane was reopened shortly after 8am and both lanes were reinstated at around 8.30am.

The owner of the horses has been made aware.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We would like to thank drivers for their patience this morning while we dealt with this incident."
