POLICE are appealing for help to trace two hillwalkers who have gone missing in separate incidents.
Timothy Rosser, a 60-year-old American tourist, has been reported missing in the Glencoe area.
Police said he was last seen leaving his hotel in Edinburgh in his black MG hire car (registration LE75 FNO) and the car was spotted in Glencoe on Tuesday.
However, he has not checked into his pre-booked hotels in the area, and concerns are growing for his wellbeing.
Rosser is described as white, around 6ft 2in and of a slim build, with short white hair.
Sergeant Lewis Macleod said: “Timothy has failed to check in to his pre-booked hotels in the area and it is out-of-character to not be in touch with his family.
“We are appealing for anyone with any information on his whereabouts, or who may have been hillwalking in the area on May 19 and seen anything which may assist our searches, to please come forward as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information has been asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 2326 of May 23, 2026.
In a separate incident, police are also appealing for information to trace 36-year-old Adam Chalmers, who was reported missing whilst hillwalking in the Ben Lawers mountain range.
Chalmers was planning to complete three Munros – Meall Greigh, Meall Garbh and An Stuc – and began his walk at around 9.15am on Saturday.
He last made contact at 12.40pm on Saturday, when he said he had completed two Munros and had one to go.
Chalmers is described as white, 5ft 11ins and of stocky build, bald and with a medium-length brown beard.
He was last seen wearing a green and blue triangle-patterned fleece, a grey and black waterproof jacket, green walking trousers, a blue cap and brown boots.
He was also in possession of a black rucksack with orange elastic ties.
Inspector Iain Gillies said: “We are appealing for anyone with any information on Adam’s whereabouts to come forward as soon as possible.
“We are particularly keen to speak with any fellow hillwalkers who were in the Lawers area on Saturday, 23 May, and may have seen Adam or knows anything which could help pinpoint his location and route.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident 2881 of May 23, 2026.
