Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a 37-year-old man in west London.

Baljit Singh was discovered unresponsive in an alleyway in Station Road, Hayes, shortly before 11pm on April 25 and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination gave his cause of death as “compression to the neck”.

Scotland Yard said a 20-year-old man and a 24-year-old man have been arrested, and are currently in custody at a west London police station.

Detective Chief Inspector Helen Rance, who is leading the investigation, said: “We have made two arrests in connection with this tragic incident and our investigation is still very much ongoing. I want to thank the public for their help so far and also renew my appeal for any information.

“Did you see Baljit around 10pm on 25 April in the vicinity of Station Road? If you think you may have information that could help our investigation and have not yet spoken to a police officer, please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or the incident room on 020 8721 4266, quoting reference number CAD 8667/25APR, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
