Two Greater Manchester boroughs have Coronavirus infection rates higher than the national average, new figures have revealed.
Coronavirus infection rates have also gone up in eight boroughs of Greater Manchester.
Trafford continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate, with a rate of 634.7 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending December 9.
The lowest infection rate is in Bolton, where the rate is 340.3 cases per 100,000 people according to the UK Health Security Agency.
In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 445.5 cases per 100,000 population.
The infection rate in the region is lower than the national average, which is 516.4 cases per 100,000 people.
A total of 12,632 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester in the week which ended on December 9. The Greater Manchester weekly total has increased by 1603 cases compared to the previous week, which means the infection rate was up 15 per cent in the last week..
The infection rate is higher than the national average in two areas of Greater Manchester. It is lower than the national average in the other eight areas.
Hospital admissions
In the week ending on December 05, a total of 204 patients were admitted to Greater Manchester NHS hospitals with Covid-19. That is 14 more than the week before, a rise of 7 per cent.
On Tuesday December 07, there were 35 Mechanical Ventilation (MV) beds occupied by Covid patients in Greater Manchester NHS hospitals. That is the same as a week earlier.

There were 901 positive Covid-19 tests in Tameside in the week ending December 9, which was 57 fewer than the previous 7 days.
Manchester
There was a rise of 27 per cent in cases in Manchester over the week ending December 9, and the infection rate is now 414.9 cases per 100,000 population.
Manchester recorded 2306 positive Covid-19 tests over the seven-day period, and that is 484 more than the previous week.
Wigan
Wigan saw a total of 1382 cases in the week ending December 9, which is 56 fewer than the previous week. That is a fall of four per cent.

Bury

Salford recorded 1241 coronavirus cases, which is 161 more than in the previous seven days.

Rochdale
The trend is up in Rochdale, where there were 1036 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending December 9, which is 108 more than the previous 7 days. That is up by 12 per cent compared to the previous week.

Stockport
In Stockport, the latest infection rate is 479.3 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases has gone up by 14 per cent.
