Two Georgia players (plus one former Dawg) at the top of 2019 Heisman odds

Georgia has not had a Heisman winner since Herschel Walker.

The Dawgs have had plenty of superstar players, however, the timing and position of those elite players have not lined up properly to bring the Heisman home to Athens. (I still think Jarvis Jones should have been a finalist in 2012…or Roquan Smith in 2017. Time to show love to defensive players).

But, according to BetOnline.ag, and as tweeted by Brett McMurphy, Georgia has two players sitting near the top of the 2019 Heisman odds: Jake Fromm and D’Andre Swift.

Leading the pack is Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with 7/2 odds, followed by Bama’s Tua Tagovailoa with 5/1 odds and Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts at 13/2.

Fromm and Swift are both tied for fourth at 12/1, along with former Georgia quarterback Justin Fields, who is now at Ohio State.

Clemson running back Travis Etienne, Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez and Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor are also tied with Swift and Fromm at 12/1 odds.

Fromm and Swift are both back in Athens this coming season for their junior year. Though Georgia lost a lot of talent on the outside this offseason, the two both have plenty of pieces in place to make a serious run at the trophy. It all starts with that offensive line, which will be arguably the best in the country this season.
