Two Georgia players go in first round of CBS Sports 2020 NFL mock draft – including No. 1 overall

We are barely removed from the 2019 NFL Draft that saw seven Georgia Bulldogs get selected into the professional ranks, however, plenty of outlets are already looking ahead to the 2020 draft.

Next year’s draft class is loaded at the quarterback position, with Georgia signal caller Jake Fromm being a leader of the pack. In CBS Sports’ 2020 NFL mock draft, Will Brinson has five passers going in the first round. Among those five is Fromm, who Brinson projects to be selected first overall by the Miami Dolphins.

From CBS Sports:

Round 1, pick 1

“The Dolphins traded for Josh Rosen during the 2019 NFL Draft, and I think/hope he’ll work out in Miami, but I ultimately see a QB going first overall and Rosen wouldn’t prohibit them from taking someone they believe in like Fromm.”

If I had to guess now, and this means absolutely nothing, I would expect Fromm to stay after this season. To me, he just does not seem like the type of kid to leave school early. He’s a Georgia boy, seems to be loving UGA, has some unfinished business left to attend to in Athens (depending on this season) and knows he has a few things to improve on before taking the next step to the NFL.

Also eligible for next year’s draft is left tackle Andrew Thomas, who may be the best offensive lineman in the entire country this coming season. I’ve seen him go in the top five of a few mocks already, and Brinson of CBS Sports considers him a first rounder as well.

In this mock draft, Thomas is projected to go to the Houston Texans with the 16th overall pick.

“The Texans have to keep adding talent on the offensive line.”
