Two generations of former Raiders Wisniewskis celebrate as Stefen gets second Super Bowl ring in three years

Steve Wisniewski spent his entire NFL career in Silver & Black. He joined the Raiders as a second-round pick in 1989 and stayed a Raider until retirement following the 2001 season, missing a total of two games in his entire career. And each year, the 7-time Pro Bowler and 2-time All Pro’s name surfaces among the Hall of Fame candidates.

Sunday, his name popped up for a different reason. Well, his family name, that is. His nephew and another former Raiders second-round draft pick, Stefen, celebrated on the field as the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

Steve took to twitter, brimming with pride for his nephew’s accomplishment.

Stefen took over as the starting guard for the Chiefs in week 15 and continued through the Super Bowl, so it wasn’t just a matter of him being along for the ride. This isn’t the first time either.

It was just two years ago that Wisniewski was doing the same thing. He was the starting guard for the Eagles when they won the Super Bowl in 2018.

The nine-year veteran spent his first four seasons in Oakland as their starting center. He was a passable center for the most part, but ultimately he would move to guard. It wouldn’t happen until he had exhausted his chances to be an NFL center.

He spent three years as a part-time starting guard for the Eagles before joining the Chiefs prior to last season. Now he has two Super Bowl rings while his Hall of Fame-worthy uncle never reached the Super Bowl, let alone got a ring. Though I’m sure he was just as happy a couple of years ago to watch his nephew’s Eagles take out the Patriots. After all, the infamous tuck rule game was the last of Steve’s career.
