Two further coronavirus deaths recorded in Liverpool hospitals

There have been two further coronavirus deaths recorded at Liverpool's main NHS hospitals Trust.

The Covid-19 death toll at the city's University Hospital Trust now stands at a grim 462.

The rest of the Trusts across our region avoided any further virus fatalities in today's latest update.

Across the country NHS England said there had been a further 19 deaths recorded in its hospitals, with three of these occurring in the North West.

While a low number of additional deaths in the region will be welcomed, experts always make clear that there is a lag in reporting of fatalities immediately after the weekend period.
