Two further arrests in connection with Rangers fans' George Square disorder

Police have arrested two men in connection with the George Square Rangers fan disorder last month.

A 28-year-old and 29-year-old have been charged after fans gathered in Glasgow on Saturday May 15 to celebrate the club's title victory.

Officers suffered 47 injuries as they battled massive crowds in the city centre during the wild celebrations.

The total number of arrests is now sits 43 as one fan was also arrested near Ibrox.

Police Scotland said: "In relation to the disorder at George Square, Glasgow on Saturday, 15 May, 2021, where there were 47 injuries to police officers.

"Two men, aged 28 and 29 have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"They have been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
