Two ‘excitable and affectionate’ Huskies found as strays looking for a new home together

Two dogs are looking for a fresh start together in Tameside after being found as strays.

The inseparable pair of Siberian Huskies are best buddies and are both looking for a new home.

Three-year-old Sasha and four-year-old Alpha are described as 'excitable' and 'affectionate' and have settled in well to Dogs Trust in Denton, and are now looking for owners who love to cuddle as much as they do.

Carol Margieson, deputy manager at Dogs Trust Manchester, said: “Sasha and Alpha are stunning dogs and although they have had a difficult time of it lately, as long as they are together, they are fine.

“They are big bundles of fun; excitable, affectionate and they love lots of fuss and cuddles, so we are definitely looking for a family with room in their home for two large canine companions.”

The Siberian husky was bred in the Northeast of Siberia for long distance sled hauling and true to their breed, Sash and Alpha love nothing more than heading out on an adventure.

They love exploring new sights and smells and so are looking for an energetic family who enjoy getting out and about as much as they do, whatever the weather.

Carol said: “They are definitely not couch potatoes! They would make great hiking companions so if there is a family out there who would like the company of two adorable dogs as they conquer mountains or head into the hills, Sash and Alpha could be the ideal dogs for them.”

Sasha and Alpha would love a secure garden to play and relax in and can live with children aged eleven and over who are comfortable around large, boisterous dogs. And while they need to live together, they will need to be the only pets.

Because they are a high-energy breed, the pair's new owners will also need breed experience or knowledge, or be willing to do their research.

Adopters should also be prepared to continue with their socialisation with other dogs. They've been friendly with some dogs they've met at the centre but are unsure of others.
