Two European clubs chase young Everton striker as Blues look to cash in

Fraser Hornby is at the centre of a transfer battle with two European clubs as Everton prepare to cash in on the young striker.

French side Stade de Reims are favourites to land the Scottish youth international but they now face competition from an unnamed German club who are also said to have registered 'firm interest' with the Blues.

It is thought that Everton will demand a fee of around £1.8m for the 20-year-old who will be entering the final 12 months of his Goodison contract next month.

Hornby has played for the Blues' first-team, making his senior debut in the 2017 Europa League dead rubber with Apollon Limassol but despite spending much of last pre-season with the squad, he has struggled to force his way into the plans on a regular basis.

This season, Hornby was loaned out to Belgium side KV Kotrijk where he scored four goals in 14 appearances before the Belgium league was cancelled.

Stade de Reims remain favourites to sign Hornby but a side in Germany are also in pursuit of the young forward whose time at Goodison looks to be coming to an end.
