Two Emmerdale favourites leave village but fans predict former star will return

Emmerdale fans are suggesting we might see the return of a former favourite as part of the soap’s current love triangle.

As Emmerdale viewers are aware, Mackenzie Boyd is due to marry Charity Dingle later this year. Although, in good old soap tradition, he’s also father to Chloe Harris’ baby.

As tonight’s episode revealed, Sarah Sugden now knows of Mackenzie cheating on her grandmother. She overheard Chloe arguing with Mackenzie as the latter wanted to come clean to partner Charity.

Sarah not wanting this to be the case, fearing the truth would break Charity, faked illness to divert everyone’s attention. She then confronted both Chloe and Mackenzie.

During the heated conversations Mackenzie said: “I don’t have any feelings for this baby and I never will.” Earlier Chloe said: “Mackenzie, I don’t care about you.”

Playing something of a mediator, Sarah said she should leave the village with Chloe to stay with Sarah’s mother. Of course, her mum is Debbie Dingle who was played in Emmerdale by Charley Dingle - until she exited in 2021.

Many Emmerdale fans are hoping this means we might see Debbie Dingle back in the soap soon. We saw @ColchesterFan post: “Could Debbie come back? #Emmerdale.”

While @GeorgiaBowring added: “#Emmerdale Are Debbie and Andy coming back.” Another viewer @Matt528chap said: “So they are dragging this out by going to see Debbie in Scotland?”

While @homebrew19721 said: “Sarah and Chloe off to see Debbie downer #Emmerdale.” Although, we aren’t sure if Emmerdale viewers should get too excited as Charley Webb had previously said she had completely ended her time with Emmerdale.

She is also due to appear in new BBC drama Better which is scheduled to debut on BBC1 on Monday, February 13. Of course, we’ll keep you posted just in case we see Charley reprise her Emmerdale role as a major shock in true soap style.
