Two driving-related arrests made in Merthyr Tydfil

It has been a busy evening for the South Wales Police Roads Policing Unit, with the force making two unrelated arrests in Merthyr Tydfil.

In a tweet in the early hours of Saturday (October 16), the force stated that officers had witnessed a car that was "driving in a peculiar manner on Pant Road".

Officers stopped the vehicle and asked the driver to perform a drug drive test. The results showed positive for cannabis, with the driver having smoked some minutes before driving.

Police arrested the driver and arranged a blood sample.

In a separate incident, officers witnessed another vehicle speeding in the area. After stopping the vehicle, police found the motorist's driving licence had expired.

The vehicle was then seized with the motorist charged to court.
