Drivers hit by fines after making dangerous errors in Dublin

Two drivers found themselves in hot water after making dangerous errors on the roads in Dublin.

Gardai from Kevin Street stopped a car after it was spotted running a red traffic light in the city centre on Friday.

A fixed charge penalty notice was issued to the driver following the incident.

Officers from Kevin Street also spotted a car that was dangerously parked on a footpath blocking a cycle lane on Clanbrassil Street.

A fixed charge penalty notice was issued to the owner.

A garda spokesperson said on Twitter: "Gardaí from Kevin Street stopped this vehicle after observing it going through a red traffic light in the city centre. An FCPN was issued to the driver."

Speaking about the second incident, they added: "Gardaí from Kevin Street issued the owner of this vehicle a FCPN for parking on a footpath and blocking a cycle lane on Clanbrassil Street recently."
