Two double decker buses go up in flames at a compound in Stockport

This is the moment two double decker buses parked up in a depot in Stockport went up in flames.

Pictures from the scene show flames shooting from the roof of the buses.

Ten firefighters spent about an hour battling the blaze.

It's not clear how the fire started.

It broke out at the Stagecoach depot near the Stockport viaduct just after 5pm on Sunday.

In a statement Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 5.07pm.

"Two pumps from Whitehill and Stockport attended.

"The fire involved two double deckers buses in a compund.

"The crew used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus and a ventilation fan to clear the smoke.

"We were there for around an hour."
