Two Doors Down's Jamie Quinn unrecognisable in first ever TV appearance

Jamie Quinn is best known for playing Ian in BBC hit comedy Two Doors Down, but did you know that he first made his television debut when he was just a young lad?

The Scots actor and musician appeared on Michael Barrymore’s Kids Say the Funniest Things in the 1990s - and he certainly entertained.

Each week three kids were invited on to the comedy programme and host Micheal would ask them questions about their lives, family and friends. It certainly wasn’t for the faint-hearted.

A clip circulating on TikTok shows a nine-year-old Scottish lad dressed in a kilt, and that lad is Jamie Quinn.

In it, Michael asked him various questions including: “Do you know what a cult is?” referring to a group of people with usually atypical beliefs living in relative isolation from the world.

Jamie had the studio audience in hysterics (ITV)

However, Jamie looking rather confused, replied: “A cult? That’s a cult there,” as he pointed to the kilt round his waist.

The clip on has received hundreds of views with people left trying to work out if it was indeed the Two Doors Down star or just a coincidence as the boy had the same name.

That prompted Jamie to take to Twitter and confirm that it was indeed him. In a post, he said: “Loadsa folk have been messaging asking if this is me back in the day...So, I can confirm, yes it is, and no, I didn’t have a license for that bowl cut...”

Last month, we told you how Elaine C. Smith hinted that the popular Scots sitcom could be returning for a seventh series.

The well-kent actress, who plays loose-tongued neighbour Christine, sent fans wild after posting a picture on her Instagram story of the cast, which included the words ‘Two Doors Down Will Return’.

In November last year, the BBC comedy, which is filmed in Dumbarton, returned to our screen for a sixth instalment and saw Siobhan Redmond brought in as Anne-Marie, Colin’s new love interest after Doon Mackichan, who played Cathy, quit.
