Two die in separate accidents in Hassan

Two people, including a worker from West Bengal, died in two separate accidents in Hassan district on Monday.

Mohammed Shahjahan, 33, a native of West Bengal working in the garment industry in the industrial area of Hassan, died after he was hit by an unknown vehicle on Sunday night. Shahjahan and his colleague Imraz Ansari were returning to their room on Hassan-Goruru Road after their job when the vehicle hit him. He was taken to the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences, where he succumbed later on Monday.

The Hassan Rural police have registered a case.

In another incident, a person died and another suffered injuries when an autorickshaw went off the road and hit a stone pole near Kempu Sagar in Banavara Hobli of Arsikere taluk on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Nandish, 25, of Thippagutta in Arsikere taluk. He had gone to the market for festival shopping when he met with the accident.

The Banavara police have registered a case.
