Two die in microlight aircraft crash at Woodville

Two men have died after a microlight aircraft crash in Woodville on Saturday afternoon.

A police statement said emergency services located the wreckage and two bodies at a property on Paterson Road at about 12.20pm following reports of a crash.

Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced with the Sports Aviation Federation of Australia is assisting.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Maitland Police Station on 4934 0311 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
