Two die, five injured in accident on Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway

BENGALURU: Two persons died on the spot and five others sustained injuries early on Saturday when the mini-goods truck they were travelling in collided with a truck in Kunigal on Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway.

The victims — Yogesh Kumar, 30 and M Baby, 18, residents of KR Pet — were returning home after visiting Adichunchanagiri Mutt.

Police said nine persons from two families had travelled to the mutt on Friday night. “After visiting the mutt and offering prayers on Saturday, they were returning home when the accident took place,” an officer said.
