Two deliberate fires rip through same west end property on successive days

Two separate fires have ripped through the same Glasgow property on successive days this week.

The deliberate blazes occurred on Cleveden Drive in the west end on Monday and Tuesday night.

The first incident happened around 11pm on Monday (May 17) and involved a fire which was deliberately started, causing major damage.

Meanwhile, the second was reported around 10.30pm on Tuesday (May 18) when a further fire was set at the property.

Nobody was injured in either of the blazes.

Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone with information about the incidents to come forward.

Detective Constable Kieran Bradshaw, of Maryhill Police Station, said: "Our enquiries into both of these incidents are ongoing and we are keeping an open mind behind any motives.

"We would urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the property on either Monday or Tuesday evening to come forward.

"If you were driving in the area and may have dashcam footage then please get in touch to pass this on.

"Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 4045 of 17 May, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
