Two dead after separate double stabbings just hours apart in London

Two separate double stabbings are being investigated after violence broke out in east and north London on Tuesday, leaving two men dead and another two injured.

A man in his late twenties or early thirties was killed just after 4pm in Watney Street, Shadwell, east London, on Tuesday, while a second man in his fifties is still in hospital.

In a separate fight just hours later at around 6.40pm in Primrose Hill, north London, a 21-year-old man was stabbed to death while another man in his twenties suffered non-fatal knife wounds.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to Shadwell with an ambulance crew, and the younger man was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition and subsequently died. Detectives are working to trace his family.

The second man’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams said: “My thoughts remain with the victim’s family and loved ones, as well as those in the community who have been affected by this incident.

“We are working to establish the circumstances surrounding his tragic death. We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or who has CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist in our inquiries – please come forward with any information.”

The stabbing at Primrose Hill’s viewpoint saw police called to a fight at the popular north London park, which boasts panoramic views of the capital.

Paramedics treated a 21-year-old man for stab wounds, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man, believed to be in his twenties, was found by police nearby on Regent’s Park Road and taken to hospital with stab wounds that are not life-threatening.
