Two daredevils climb 1,150ft crane to take selfie above Istanbul bridge

Two daredevils have captured the moment they scaled a 1,150ft bridge to take a selfie.

Free climbers Pavel Smirnov and Ozcan Ipar climbed to the top of Istanbul's newest bridge that lies across the Bosphorus. They can be seen atop its highest point, city and clouds below them.

Making the climb without support ropes or any other specialised equipment, they scaled a crane that was positioned above the bridge to get as high as possible.

"The fact I climbed so high makes me feel free," Smirnov told media. "I did it and I am so proud."

His companion Ipar said "You feel different to everyone. You push the limit."

Reportedly the climbers faced no obstacle from security in scaling the bridge, nor was it suggested they would face legal consequences.
