Two coronavirus deaths in Leeds hospitals after 28 day stretch with no fatalities

Two people have died from coronavirus in Leeds hospitals, after 28 days without recording a death.

The fatalities end the city's 28-day run without recording a single death linked to the virus, after the last one was recorded on July 15.

It means that 340 people have now died from Covid-19 in the city's hospitals.

NHS England announced today that another 13 people died from Covid-19 in England's hospitals.

Patients were aged between 49 and 90 years old and one person had no underlying health conditions.

Their families have been informed.

The two deaths in Yorkshire were both at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one on August 4 and another on August 10.

It brings the total amount of people to die in England's hospitals since the pandemic began to 29,431.
