Two Collie Cross sisters are looking for an active home together in the Manchester area, as they cannot bear to be separated, and love ‘nothing more than each other’s company’.
Skye and Rain are a pair of Border Collie and Husky crosses, currently being housed at the Dogs Trust while they await their second chance at happiness together.
The rescue centre have described them as an ‘absolutely beautiful pair’, explaining that confident Skye helps her more timid sister acclimatise to new and daunting experiences.
“These sisters love nothing more than each other's company and can often be found running around chasing each other and love to rough play!” they said.
“Skye is the slightly more confident of the two and loves human company and will put her paws on your shoulder for a big hug, but Rain can take a little longer to come out her shell but will soon also come over for a gentle fuss.
“These girls are very foody and clever which is great for their ongoing training and they also love running around after toys including tennis balls, especially Rain.
“They also jump straight in the back of the car and sit nicely so they would be great to take on trips out - they do love to be active and can be quite strong on the lead because they're always keen to go.”
Due to their enthusiasm for exploring new places which can result in pulling while on a walk, the centre recommends they are rehomed to a household where more than one person will be able to walk them, with access to a secure garden where they can burn off any excess steam.
Rain unfortunately does have some pre-existing hip issues so will need to take things a bit easier than Skye and have her exercise built up gradually, but it hasn’t held her back from enjoying adventures.
The siblings could potentially live with children over aged 14, but due to their boisterous nature would need to be the only other pets in the home.
They can be reactive to other dogs, but the rescue centre attributes this to ‘frustration’ that their new friends don’t instantly want to play.
They are typical of the breeds that they are crossed with- intelligent, active and playful, and would need a home that could keep them occupied and entertained.
