Two classes at Nottingham school temporarily closed after positive Covid-19 tests

Two classes at a Nottingham secondary school have now been told to isolate at home after positive Covid-19 tests.

Oak Field School and Specialist Sports College, which is located in Wigman Road, Bilborough, announced news of one of the cases to parents on Thursday, March 25.

Class 6F2 has closed as a result of one of its pupils contracting the virus.

Pupils and staff will now isolate for 10 days until Saturday, April 3 in line with government guidance.

A statement from the school reads: "Class 6F2 at Oak Field School is temporarily closed as a result of a pupil testing positive for Cоvid-19.

"Pupils and staff in this class should now self isоlate at home for 10 days up to and including Saturday 3rd April.

"We have taken this decision in line with national and local guidance. If pupils feel unwell with Covid-19 symptoms, we would urge parents to obtain a test for them."

It comes a week after another class at Oak Field was closed after a positive Covid test.

Class 12 pupils were told to isolate for 10 days on Friday, March 19, after another pupil had tested positive - the class is currently isolating until Saturday, March 27.

The school is working closely with Public Health England, the DfE, Nottingham City Council and the Nottingham Schools Trust in relation to any positive Covid-19 tests.
