Two children hurt after rollercoaster carriage comes off track at Scots adventure park

Two children have been hurt after a rollercoaster carriage came off the track at a Scots adventure park.

Police were called to reports of a mechanical failure on board the ride at the Landmark Adventure Park in Aviemore around 11.30am on Thursday August 12.

Two chidren suffered minor injuries in the incident. They were treated at the scene.

The rollercoaster to have suffered the fault is believed to be the Runaway Timber Train.

Pictures from the scene show what appears to be a carriage hanging off the side of the track after coming loose.

Ambulance crews were also spotted at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called out at half 11am to a report of a carriage on a rollercoaster suffering mechanical failure.

"Two children suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

"We remain on-scene at the moment and inquiries are continuing."

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
