Two children arrested after notorious teen gang cause chaos in numerous planned Dublin fights

Two young people were arrested following several fights in Kilbarrack in one day organised by a notorious teenage gang who have carried out numerous horror attacks in Dublin this week.

The teenage army of up to 30 youths have been striking fear in Dublin locals after vicious assaults in Portmarnock and Baldoyle followed by a day of mayhem at the 'clash at the grass' in north Dublin.

Raheny officers were called to the Kilbarrack green several times on Wednesday as they tried their best to tackle the large gathering of youths in the area.

Following their efforts to get the crowd to leave the northside greenery, the youngsters kept coming back for more.

A Garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live that two of the youths were arrested late on Thursday night but were later released as they continue to investigate to put a stop to the gang's reign of terror.

She said: "Gardaí in Raheny were called to a number of different incidents during the day of Wednesday 20 May, 2020 to large gathering of youths up in Kilbarrack Road area."

She added: "Gardaí endeavoured to disperse the youths and encouraged them to adhere to Public Health Guidelines. At approximately 9p.m. last night two youths were arrested and were later released.  Investigations ongoing."

It is understood that at least 50-60 youths were involved in the meet-up just off the Kilbarrack Road all day long on Wednesday.

Dublin Live understands that the planners behind the huge meeting also carried out the large attack on an off-duty guard the on Monday in Portmarnock and a horrific hammer attack on a young kid in Baldoyle on Tuesday.

Frightened onlookers could only watch as punches flew with some young people even left bleeding after the meet-up.

Footage obtained by Dublin Live shows the army of young people fleeing the scene after reports that Gardai had been called with another video clearly showing the youngsters gathered together during the organised brawl.

A young teen is still in a serious condition in Beaumont hospital after the Baldoyle attack.

As many as 30 of the armed youths left the kid with two skull fractures and internal bleeding following a vicious assault where they used a hammer as a weapon.

The assault took place in broad daylight on Tuesday with the youngster suffering injuries to his hands and torso as the poor victim tried his best to protect himself from the horrific beating.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the assault or anyone with information in relation to it to contact them immediately.

In Portmarnock, brave neighbours fought off the gang on Monday who threatened to kill a young man and "slash" them.

The young man barricaded himself in the porch of a cocooning elderly couple who feared for their lives as the thugs threatened the man.

An off duty garda and his son were attacked as heroic locals intervened to stop the gang, who had cycled to Portmarnock after singling out another youngster on his bike from nearby Clarehall and threatening to kill him.

The off-duty garda and his son were punched while another brave neighbour was bitten by the yobs as gardai swarmed the area.
