Two children and two adults rushed to hospital after serious lunchtime crash

Two adults and two children have been rushed to hospital following a crash in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester.

Two of the patients have serious injuries, according to The North West Ambulance Service.

Pictures show two crumpled vehicles on the side of the road, with one car pushed up onto the verge, following the crash shortly after noon today.

Greater Manchester Police said a Ford B-Max and Fiat 500 were involved, reports the Manchester Evening News.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We have been called to a collision involving multiple vehicles.

"We have got a rapid response vehicle, three ambulances, the air ambulance and an operational commander on the scene."

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called at 12.09pm to a report of a collision on Simonsway, Wythenshawe.

"Appears two vehicles are involved – a Ford B-Max and Fiat 500. Road closed from Styal Road."

A spokeswoman for NWAS said: "There were four patients, two adults and two children.

Several police officers as well as three ambulances, the air ambulance and an operational commander were at the scene (MEN MEDIA)

“All four have been taken to hospital. Two had serious injuries.

“They went by road ambulance.”
