Two men have been charged with murder after a man died following an assault outside a nightclub in Lewisham.
Taiwo Ekerin, 41, suffered a serious head injury during an altercation outside Alpha Lounge on Lewisham High Street at around 4.40am on May 24.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, but was pronounced dead on May 30.
Chibueze Chukwurah, 34, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday June 5.
He was charged on June 7 and appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on June 8. He was remanded in custody, and will next appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.
Maxwell Oguanaya, 32, was charged with murder on Friday June 5, appearing at Ealing Magistrates’ Court on the same day.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.
Taiwo's family have launched a crowdfunding page to help pay for his funeral.
Relative Kenny Ekerin described Taiwo as a "much-loved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend".
He said: "Above all, Taiwo was a devoted father to his daughter, who now faces the future without her dad.
"Taiwo was known for his warmth, kindness, sense of humour, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.
"His life was taken far too soon, and our family is struggling to come to terms with this devastating tragedy."
