Two charged over 'murder bid' in Scots flat

Two men have been arrested and charged over an alleged murder bid in a Scots town.

Officers were called to a flat on Paisley Road, Renfrew around 2.30pm on Monday to reports of a man seriously injured by two men.

The 38-year-old was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

As of last night he remains in hospital receiving treatment and his condition is described as stable by medics.

Cops launched an attempted murder probe and have confirmed two men, aged 39 and 38, have been arrested and charged.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Two men, aged 39 and 38, have been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder at a property on Paisley Road in Renfrew.

“The incident happened around 2.30pm on Monday, 19 July, 2021. A 38-year-old man suffered serious injuries during the incident.

“Both are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 21 July.”

Terrified neighbours told of huge numbers of police and a cordon put up in the local area as the badly injured man was taken to hospital.
