Two charged after £182k worth of cannabis found in van on Scots motorway

Two men have been charged after £182,000 worth of cannabis was recovered from a van which was stopped on a Scots motorway.

Police stopped the white Ford Transit on the M74 near junction 6, Hamilton, at around 10.45am on Monday, November 29.

Following extensive searches a quantity of cannabis was recovered with a value of over £182,000.

Two men, aged 27 and 41, have been arrested and charged following the intelligence-led drugs recovery

The pair are expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, November 30.

Detective Inspector Craig McPhail said: “Drug misuse brings nothing but misery to our communities and I want to reassure the public that we will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to stop these illegal substances from causing harm on our streets.
