Two cats discovered abandoned on Paisley street by passerby

Two female cats have been discovered abandoned on a Paisley street.

A member of the public found the felines on Love Street on Monday (October 14) and alerted the Scottish SPCA.

The charity are now appealing for information about both cats, who were found in good condition. Neither was microchipped.

A note was left from the previous owners stating that they had tried to rehome them but failed.

Scottish SPCA inspector Sian Robertson said: "The female cats were found in cat carriers outside an old veterinary practice that has since moved location.

"We are grateful to the person who found them handed them in to a nearby vets where they were checked over.

"Both appear to be in good body condition and neither cat was microchipped.

"A note was left with the cats stating that the owner had been trying to rehome them but was unable to do so.

"It looks like whoever left them tried to leave them with a responsible person but it is still not acceptable to leave animals on the street.

"If anyone has any information, we would urge them to call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999."
