Two casualties rushed to hospital following Kilmarnock house fire

Two people have been rushed to hospital after a fire broke out at a home in Kilmarnock.

Culzean Crescent in the town was sealed off by police to allow the emergency services to deal with the blaze.

Four fire engines were dispatched to the scene shortly after 10.45am this morning.

This afternoon, Scottish Fire and Rescue bosses said that crews were still at the blaze site.

The condition of the two people involved has not been disclosed at this stage.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We were alerted at 10.46am on Tuesday, June 23 to reports of a dwelling fire on Culzean Crescent, Kilmarnock.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene to extinguish the fire.

“Two casualties have been handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Firefighters remain at the scene.”
