Two cars torched on Glasgow street in 'targeted' attack

Thugs set two cars on fire in a Glasgow street in what is thought to be a 'targeted' early morning attack.

Emergency services raced to the city's Linthaugh Road at 4.45am this morning to find the two motors ablaze.

Firefighters tackled the flames but both the blue BMW 1 series and a white VW Tiguan were burned out and suffered 'substantial' damage.

Nobody was injured but the nearby home was also damaged.

Cops believe the attack could have been targeted.

Detective Constable Paul McKenna urged anyone with information to come forward.

He said: “We believe this was a targeted attack which caused substantial damage to two vehicles, and we are thankful that no one was injured and the fire was brought under control as quickly as possible.

"There were two vehicles driving in the area around the time of the fire and we are keen to trace the occupants who may have seen anything suspicious.

“We are also appealing for anyone who may have been in the area or who may have private CCTV or dashcam to check their footage and come forward with anything or relevance.”
