Two cars torched in Helensburgh sparking police probe

Police are searching for witnesses after two vehicles were deliberately set on fire near Helensburgh.

Cops received reports of the blaze on Friday, August 21 around 2.30am.

A Renault Kadjar and a black SAAB were discovered on fire on the roadway at Courthill, Rosneath.

The fires were successfully extinguished without any casualties however both vehicles sustained significant damage.

A police Scotland statement said: “No one was injured as a result of the incident. Following a joint investigation between Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue, the fire is being treated as wilful.

“Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 0329 of 21/08/2020 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where all calls will be anonymous.”
