Two cars involved in 'serious accident' as police close Scots road

Police dealing with a 'serious accident' in Fife sealed off the road this evening.

Emergency services were called to the report of a two vehicle smash on the A985 between Kincardine and Dunfermline.

The accident happened near Devilla Forest at around 6.36pm.

Diversions were in place while officers dealt with the incident.

It is so far unclear the extent of any injuries as a result of the accident, but eye-witnesses described it as a "serious crash".

It's believed the road has now reopened to drivers.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergency services were called at around 6.36pm this evening to a two vehicle road traffic crash on the A985 road between Kincardine and Dunfermline, near Devilla Forest.

"Officers are currently at the scene dealing with the incident.
