Two cars involved in crash near to golf club

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a car crash in Lanarkshire this afternoon.

The collision involving two cars took place on Uddingston Road beside Bothwell Castle Golf Club.

Police and ambulance remain at the scene where a white Audi and another black car look to be badly damaged.

Police have confirmed there are no known injuries at this time.

A Police Scotland spokesman told Lanarkshire Live : "Police were called around 1.40pm this afternoon (April 8) following the report of a two vehicle road crash on Uddingston Road, Bothwell.

"Emergency services are currently in attendance and there are no details of injuries at this time."

An eyewitness said the incident "looked like a pretty serious smash".

They added: "There was a lot of police at the scene in three cars and an ambulance.

"A crowd was starting to gather too at the junction of Bothwell care home and Lidl."
