Two cars destroyed in dramatic beach car park fire in Llanelli and third damaged

Cars went up in flames at a car park outside housing near a beach in Llanelli last night.

Fire tore through two vehicles near North Dock, whilst smoke damage was caused to a third.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews from Llanelli to the scene, with firefighters using two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus.

Crowds watched from a distance as the fire was brought under control.

Firefighters arrived at 9.39pm and left the scene 57 minutes later.

The blaze was thought to have been accidental, a spokeswoman for the fire service said.

Police and the ambulance service did not attend.
