MIAMI _ Two Carnival Cruise Line ships collided at the port in Cozumel, Mexico, Friday morning, leaving six passengers injured, the company said.
The Carnival Glory ship hit the Carnival Legend ship and then narrowly missed the Royal Caribbean Cruises' Oasis of the Seas ship. At the time, the Carnival Glory was maneuvering to dock at the port, and the Carnival Legend and Oasis of the Seas ships were docked.
Photos posted on Twitter show damage to at least two decks of the right rear of Carnival Glory. Miami-based Carnival Cruise Line said via email that the company is assessing the damage to both ships, but the damage will not prevent either ship from sailing.
Six passengers reported minor injures, the company said.
At the time of the collision, Carnival Glory was on a seven-day Western Caribbean cruise from New Orleans and scheduled to return Sunday. The ship is 952 feet long and can hold 2,980 passengers. The Carnival Legend is 963 feet long and can hold 2,124 passengers.
The company said that future sailings on both ships will not be affected.
